Frogtown-
typology

Fall 2018

This project, set in Frogtown, is a study of typologies and how they can possibly converge and narrate the program of the typology mutation. This studio was meant to play with our understanding of typology and what it signifies to onlookers. The designs themselves were not the end goal as much as we were meant to challenge our own understandings of architecture and the connection of the facade to the interior.

This project combines classic turret houses found throughout Los Angeles, especially near Fairfax and the Central LA area, with the unique forms of carwashes from the mid 20th century.

The result is a mutated mess of decorative elements.
