International Conference Ines Amor in Cultural Management

With the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic in our lives, we found ourselves questioning and scrutinizing many things we took for granted day to day. One of these things under intense scrutiny was the role of museums in our cities and in our lives.

The popularization of NFTs and the growth of the BLM movement brought to question our conception of museums. We need to question what museums can be in the new digital age and what role they need to play in social justice, especially as institutions that were monuments to colonialism and elitism.

This international conference is questioning the lexicon that arose during this time and how people must adapt their institutions to keep them afloat and relevant. In collaboration with MUAC at UNAM in Mexico City, I sat down to touch on these topics with Dr. Selma Holo and Mtra. Graciela de la Torre.
